Very excited, the famous trumpeter Panama received official notice yesterday at a press conference, that is the character who devoted the eighth version of the Panama Jazz Festival.
Paz, 78, has played with big stars like Frank Sinatra, Diana Ross, Celia Cruz, Sammy Davis, Dizzy Gillespie and the Fania All Stars, among many others.
On this occasion the festival will be from 11 to 16 January and the announcement came as part of the official launch of this festival where he was its founder and president, Danilo Perez, who, incidentally, has just been appointed artistic director Global Berklee Jazz Institute, based at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. It was announced to be held such an appointment precisely at the festival.
The press conference was brightened just with relaxing jazz music, performed by an orchestra of the Danilo Perez Foundation.
